H10: 893 Goodrich Ave

This formerly unkept duplex was saved just in time by Save A Castle.

We turned this formerly un-kept duplex into a charming single family home. There are 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a formal living room with a gas fireplace, a large family room in the basement that incorporated existing built-ins, and a TV room with a custom entertainment center. The mudroom contains cubbies, pantry storage to compliment the new kitchen, and a key drop/tech hub. A two car detached garage exists. Energy efficiency was improved by adding insulation to the attic, replacing windows, replacing the boiler and hot water maker, and providing energy star appliances. The woodwork and built-ins were salvaged and reused. We also saved and refinished as much hardwood as we could. This was actually the first Save A Castle where the homebuyers were involved in a good portion of the design process and made decisions regarding layout, products and materials. They’ve added a lot of personal touches along the way and can’t wait to move in.
